Healthcare architecture firm Bernstein & Associates, Architects (www.bernarch.com) has been hired to design new, state-of-the-art, medical offices. The medical offices will include cardiology, radiology, exam rooms, consult rooms, and typical support spaces such as reception, waiting, administration, staff support, bathrooms, and storage.

The project is a renovation of existing office space, and involves a complete gut rehab of the space, including all new walls, ceilings, finishes, lighting, new HVAC system, plumbing, fire alarm and radiation shielding.

Arrhythmia Institute, Designed by Bernstein & Assoc., Architects, Opens

Healthcare architecture firm Bernstein & Associates, Architects (www.bernarch.com) is pleased to announce that the Arrhythmia Institute – a state-of-the-art cardiac center featuring arrhythmia procedures – has opened.

This cardiology design project involved cardiology planning and cardiology design of multiple Electrophysiology (EP) Labs, including the incorporation of Stereotaxis equipment, which allows for remote magnetic navigation. The arrhythmia center design includes a
cardiology procedure wing, cardiology prep/recovery wing, cardiology reception/waiting, cardiology office wing, and cardiology education wing.

The planning of the cardiology procedure wing allows for: four Electrophysiology (EP) Labs, including the remote navigation equipment by Stereotaxis as indicated, as well as typical patient and staff support. The planning required for this cardiac equipment required coordination amongst numerous parties.

The design of the cardiology prep/recovery wing allows for the proper ratio of prep/recovery beds to procedure rooms, as well as nursing station, nourishment station, clean utility, soiled utility, and other typical support spaces.

The design of the arrhythmia center waiting/reception includes a reception area, waiting for arrhythmia patients and their families, arrhythmia patient education center, pantry and consulting.

This state-of-the-art arrhythmia center has been featured on the cardiology business website www.cardiologybusiness.com, as well as the Hospital Newspaper. It promises to be a leading example of arrhythmia center planning and design when complete.

Hospice Design Wins Green Design Award


Hospice Design for the United Hospice of Rockland wins Green Award from Rockland Business Association.

The new hospice building for United Hospice of Rockland, with interior design by Bernstein & Associates, Architects (www.bernarch.com), and project management by Empire Projects, Inc., received a Green Design award from its local county business association, the Rockland Business Association.

The interior design for the hospice by Bernstein & Associates, Architects, included design and specification of all interior lighting, millwork, finishes, colors, finishes, furniture and artwork.

The hospice design scope included the private hospice bedrooms, hospice sitting areas, and hospice bathrooms. Public hospice spaces designed include hospice reception, hospice great room, and hospice dining room. Additional hospice program areas designed include a hospice spa and hospice study areas. Pharmacy Design Project Out To Bid for New Hospital Pharmacy in New York State
